list categories, and then phone us to discuss your options.
We will be happy to give you all the time you need to

Most
people in the UK prefer to swim in a heated pool,
and we have a full range of pool heating and
insulation products. Heating allows the swimming season
to be extended for outdoor pools, enabling maximum enjoyment
and value for money. There are various options available
– namely electric, gas, oil, and solar, plus heatpumps
to take free heat from the air, and heat exchangers to
connect to your existing central heating system. An inexpensive
floating solar heating bubble cover also works well on
it’s own, and is essential to provide insulation,
whatever other heating equipment you have. Your choice
of heating method depends on the size of pool, fuel available,
and what time of the year you want to swim.
Smaller pools (up to about 24’
x 12’ or 7m x 3.5m) can be heated with a 9kw or
12kw electric heater. These are cheap to buy and running
costs are favourable if off-peak electricity is used.
Larger pools require more heating, and
as most domestic electricity supplies can only support
up to a 12kw heater, other options, such as gas or oil,
should be considered. These are bigger and more economical
to run, but cost more initially.
Should you have spare capacity on your domestic boiler,
and if it is sited near to the pool, a heat exchanger
is an option worth considering.
Solar heating is becoming increasingly
popular. It is important to size it correctly, by having
at least 50% of the pool area in solar panels.
Solar blanket pool covers are a must
in the UK. They act as a floating solar panel on the surface
and reduce heat losses caused by evaporation. They are
cheap to buy and greatly reduce pool heating costs.
"My daughter got her
birthday party after all, in a lovely warm pool! Our new
heater is bliss...."
